A very sick Homeless man was sleeping on the streets in Midtown Houston. We Prayed for him, gave him food and water.  An ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital and received care.

People living on the streets came to listen to the Word of GOD, to receive clothing and a hot meal.

Through donations our Ministry provided clothing for many people living on the streets and those that have fallen on hard times .

A Homeless Man with extraordinary talent who has the gift of being able to draw anything he laid his eyes on. He had fallen on hard times and came to our Ministry for Prayer. Fish&BreadPrayerMinistry is trying to find a place for his talent.

A Homeless camp in Houston, Texas where people are allowed to live without rules and regulations. Many of the people who live there come to our Ministry to hear the Word Of GOD , get clothing, toiletries a  hot meal and referrals for shelter and medical direction.

Mayor Turner Orders Clean Up For Homeless Encampment

The Wheeler homeless encampment has been labeled a public health nuisance

HPM News Staff  | Posted on March 23, 2018, 8:59 AM

The clean up of the homeless encampment started under the bridge at the intersection of Caroline and Wheeler Streets on March 23, 2018, at 8:00 a.m.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner ordered the clean up of a homeless encampment near Midtown on Thursday afternoon and the operation started on Friday morning.

The City said in a news release from the Mayor’s Office that this comes after the “Local Health Authority” declared the area a public health nuisance.

The City contends the clean up of the Wheeler homeless encampment is necessary because of human waste, mosquitoes, garbage and other conditions that can make people sick.

Clean up under Highway 59, from Caroline Street to Almeda Road, began early on Friday.

City officials said notices had been previously given to people living under the Wheeler bridge and they are trying to provide housing and mental health care information to those people.

In a statement, Turner said that “no one is being punished because he or she is homeless, but we are facing a public health hazard.”

Mayor Turner unveils plan for Houston's homeless

HOUSTON - Mayor Turner unveiled a new six-point plan to tackle the city's homeless problem Thursday.

Mayor Turner said that the city has cut the homeless population in half over the last six years and only a third of those now sleep on the streets. He said he's looking to the 100 public and private groups who made that possible to cut the number down even further.

Expanding the program, the 'Way Home Initiative', is at the center of the mayor's plan. Mayor Turner said 500 chronically homeless people will be put in permanent supportive housing within six months and called on more landlords to help out.

He wants to secure, manage and create covered outdoor spaces with restrooms where up to 75 people could stay temporarily. City council members and neighbors would decide where the areas will be.

The city says they'll continue to clean up encampments while the homeless are transitioning to shelters and housing and expand HPD's homeless outreach team.

The Mayor said he'll also be giving council members a new ordinance banning tents on public property, like those popping up under the Southwest Freeway in the Museum District.

Mayor Turner hopes to get council members that ordinance and an aggressive panhandling ordinance by next week and says the city will continue to push the state and federal governments for mental health and substance abuse funding.
